    I had a tooth removal on 29. They did a full extraction pulpectomy with bonegraft. Now I did use a straw throughout sipping liquids for the first three days and then salt water rinse between day two and day four, but I didn’t spit hard. But I did notice that when they did the procedure they did kind of forcefully push down on the jaw Back-and-forth trying to get to 29 out. Day four I had to go back I was experiencing some catastrophic pain. It was no bleeding or anything like that but when I did go in, they did find out that I did have a dry socket so he filled it with some type of gel and come to find out it was alveogyl And the pain has went down, but I was advised to remain on the restrictions of only eating liquid food for the next 24 hours. Having a dry socket sucks!! Is there anything that a patient can do if they end up receiving a second dry socket during the process and how to properly care for that tooth at home if it say on a weekend and no dentist offices are open ?

    • @OnlineExodontia
      @OnlineExodontia 16 дней назад

      I hope I'm understanding correctly, but I would say that you must either pull back on the plunger if you're using an aspirating syringe (harpoon-style) or you must let off on the injection pressure with a self-aspirating syringe to see the positive aspiration. All the best!

      @@OnlineExodontia I understood what you meant, but I meant that there is not enough space in the anesthetic ampoule because it is full of anaesthesia, so how can I do a backward aspiration? • @OnlineExodontia
      @OnlineExodontia 16 дней назад

      @@user-xt9ey2kt8w The stopper in the carpules has room to move backward even before injecting, so you can follow the same guide as I mentioned to aspirate prior to injecting. If it's a self aspirating syringe, you can press on the ring on the barrel and it will perform an aspiration without injecting any solution. Hope that helps!

    Man. I had an awful experience this last month for a root canal. The injections absolutely caused lingual nerve damage. The left side of my tongue and bottom right chin were impacted. I went back 3 days after and she said nothing about it. I complained of excruciating pain in my jaw and a lisp…all she did was give me an antibiotic & 800mg ibuprofen. I went for a second opinion that same day! They stated it was too early to tell. A month later and here I am having to do speech therapy on my own in efforts to help with healing. To go in for a routine root canal and come out with a speech impediment is INFURIATING. I go back Wednesday to get my crown put on, so I have been educating myself. The last thing a doctor wants to do is tell on themselves. Wish me luck.

    I got all my wisdom teeth extracted yesterday and woke up with a huge liver clot on one of the bottom ones. I’m not sure what to do because it’s laying on top of 2 other teeth but my surgeon said over the phone to leave it and that it will fall out by itself. He also said to use a salt water rinse. I’m not in serious pain yet or anything but that side has the most swelling and i’ve heard you can get an infection from not correcting it/ damaging the surrounding teeth? I keep seeing online that the treatment is to wipe it off..

    Yes oral surgeons are really good at what they do I just got my wisdom teeth out weeks ago on Thursday, April 18th under general anesthesia and my oral surgeon did a great job and I even made myself comfortable I fell asleep in the waiting room and also brang a blanket and some stuffed animals but I couldn’t hold them because of the IV but the assistants put the blanket on me and a blue hair cap thing and told me to lay down and then my oral surgeon Dr. Kerr he’s like” oh look who’s all relaxed and then before I went off to sleep he’s like” stick your tongue out like you hate me” but I don’t hate him he’s really nice I even gave him a painting 🖼️ that I had made during COVID and I also gave him a Thank You card because I was in pain for 7 years since 2017 when he first started at his office here in Canada 🇨🇦 at Interface Oral Surgery Centre he was so happy when he saw me with a blanket and stuffed animals 🧸 when they called my name my mom saw him standing talking to the other surgeons because my surgery was at 8:30 in the morning Canada time my moms like” oh there’s Dr. K then he smiled I had an Amazing experience with my oral surgeon and also my godmother my aunt my dads sister bought me a chapters indigo gift card for Easter so I’m going to buy my 2 favourite dentists my orthodontist and my oral surgeon coffee mugs and my oral surgery assistants who helped me during my surgery Starbucks gift cards to say Thank You for helping me and also I love Dentistry and going to the dentist I was so scared for 7 years to have my wisdom teeth removed but then my mom at my second consultation because at the first consultation on July 28th of 2021 during the pandemic I was so scared and nervous that I had my head down the whole time but I let my oral surgeon check my wisdom teeth and also his voice comforted me right away I felt comfortable but at the second consultation on April 2nd of this year my moms like” I just want to get it out of the way” so then my mom had asked Dr. K when do you have an available time and he’s like” I can do it this month some time and he did my surgery was 2 weeks ago and my swelling has gone down and I’ve been resting lots eating a lot of my favourite soft foods and always remembering the day I did my surgery I felt so comfortable and even I wore comfy clothes and also Barbie socks and also my nails were matching my socks pink and pink the assistants loved my nails and my socks then I had woke up in recovery and my recovery nurse Kandi or Kami was like” Bella, Bella, Bella can you open your eyes because I was still really sleepy but then I woke up and my mom was waiting for me in another room and I fell asleep again and then my nurse changed my gauze before I went home and also I still had my IV in my hand for to keep me comfortable and also I woke up saying I love Dr. K and then my mom asked if he can come and check on me and he did he said I did great oral surgeons are the best !!! 🩷🤗🦷🦷

    I know no one is going to answer this but I had an extraction and graft on #3. It didn’t heal and fell out, I realized something was wrong. She did a third graft which also didnt stick. Realized the front of my jaw(buccal plate) had broken and she never told me. I brought up my concern with this after #2 graft and she brushed it off, acting like I was the first patient who’s had a failed graft. I now have a crater in the front of my jaw between my teeth and no graft. Is she at fault for this? Is she responsible for the breakage and failures? Please help me, I’m out of pocket with a caved in jaw.
